Welcome to the Jack Robinson Memorial Bike-a-Thon

In memory of

Jack Robinson

We regret to announce that we have decided to discontinue running the Jack Robinson Bike-A-Thon.  We have tried our best to run an excellent and safe ride through the beautiful roads of Juniata County.  However, we simply haven’t been able to attract sufficient riders to justify the effort and liability risk that is involved.  We want to thank to all of those who have ridden with us and the individuals and businesses who have been sponsors.  Also, we wish to thank the Jack Robinson family for their support and for sharing Jack’s legacy with us.

Richard Burkholder

Chairman, Jack Robinson Bike-A-Thon Committee

Note from the Webmaster: The Jack Robinson website is being updated no longer.  2007 was the last of 10 annual events.  Photos and all other aspects of the web are being left in-place for archival purposes.  Feel free to browse through the website to remember Jack Robinson and the Memorial Bike-a-Thon.

Thanks for visiting,
The Webmaster

This ride begins and ends in the beautiful, shaded McAlisterville Community Park located along Rt. 35 in McAlisterville, Juniata County, PA. This country bike-a-thon takes you through some of the most scenic landscape in central Pennsylvania. You will find views of the scenic Juniata river, country farms, historic sites and covered bridges. Make sure you bring your camera!

The Jack Robinson Memorial Bike-A-Thon is in memory of the late John "Jack" Robinson, event founder, who lost his gallant fight against lung cancer in 1998. Jack had a passion for bike riding, which he turned into this successful fundraiser that benefits local United Way charities. Jack was always enthusiastic and optimistic in every venture. With great humor and compassion he looked for the best in each person and in every situation. Jack Robinson worked diligently to make his community a better place. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, passing to his three children, the wisdom and unfailing determination to succeed that he personified in his own life.
